Entertaiment

Entertaiment is a broad category of audience-centered commercial culture that keeps people amused, diverted, and engaged. It includes everything from art forms such as music and movies to edutainment like education and intellectual stimulation. In addition to its role as a social lubricant, entertainment provides emotional upliftment and mental catharsis. For example, laughter and happiness can reduce stress by lowering cortisol levels. Other entertainment, such as a gripping mystery novel, solving a puzzle, or engaging in strategic video games, can also provide cerebral engagement.
